Still in the game
I was out from writing about my triathlon journey for awhile and now I’m back.
My previous post—my race report following my fun, but humbling , experience at Ironman Chattanooga in September 2018—was over two years ago. Though I haven’t been publishing my writing during that time, I’ve continued to race, train, work on improving my fitness and habits little by little.
Why starting writing now? Well, why not? To be honest, there are several reasons.
One I’ll highlight today is inspiration from my friend and C26 teammate, Phil Jones, who has been writing daily about his own triathlon journey for well over a year on his blog. That’s an incredible accomplishment. One day he decided to publish his thoughts. At any point he could have decided to stop and it wouldn’t have been a big deal. But he’s continued showing up day after day. Hundreds of posts later, he has produced a treasure trove of insight and observations from his own experience. A small consistent commitment over a long period of time leads to bigger things. It’s a great analogy to training.
Unlike Phil, I can’t commit to publishing a new post daily. I have a goal in mind and though I’m not ready to share it just, you can expect to hear about my triathlon journey more often than once every two years.
It’s good to be back.
