About

My name is Ross Kaffenberger. I’m a father, I work full-time from home, and I train for triathlon almost everyday.

In 2016, my wife passed away unexpectedly in her sleep. At the time, a surrogate was six months pregnant with our first child. We had been in the midst of preparing for parenthood. I had to continue that journey without her when our son was born a few months later.

But I’ve haven’t done it alone. With love and support from friends and family, I’m learning how to live with loss and to be the best father I can be.

I also turned to triathlon to help me cope with my grief. Along the way, I discovered a love for the sport. I found a team and work with a coach. Now I train everyday to go faster and farther, making the most of the tools I have.

This is where I tell my story.
